What Is the DiabloSport inTune i3 Platinum Tuner?
The DiabloSport inTune I3 is a handheld tuner that you can plug into your vehicle’s OBD2 (onboard diagnostics) port. You can use it to modify the settings on the vehicle’s computer to boost power and torque without any mechanical modifications.
What does it do?
The device comes preloaded with various tunes designed for the car it is plugged into. It can increase horsepower and torque, improve throttle response, and improve fuel economy.

A Detailed Overview of the Device
Design and build-quality
The DiabloSport inTune i3 Platinum has a simple design that reminds of the older iPhone models. It has a 3-3.5 inch touchscreen display and a decent-quality plastic body.
Overall, the device feels small and compact when held in hand. Even though the screen is not that touch-sensitive, it responds well to commands and does the job.

How it Works – Menus and Options
Once you plug the DiabloSport inTune i3 Platinum into your vehicle, it will boot up and show you three main options:

Tune Vehicle
When you select the Tune Vehicle command, it will present you with two options: Easy Tune and Advanced Tune. The tuning options in both modes will vary depending on your vehicle, and some of the displayed options may not be available.
The Easy Tune lets you quickly tune your vehicle, depending on the octane fuel consumption. Its parameters are preset, so you cannot change any of the settings.
The Advanced Tune allows you to control several things, like:
- Switching the cooling fans on and off
- Modify the idle RPMs
- Revving the speed limiter (increasing how high you can rev the engine)
- Remove the limiting top speed
- Throttle booster (making the throttle more responsive)
- Speedometer calibration depending on tire information input
Scan Tool
The Scan Tool enables the device to scan DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) and informs if your car has any malfunctioning parts.
Settings
The Settings command gives you access to several options that you can use to adjust the device to your preferences. It allows you to configure the WiFi connection, change the analog input display, sound & display, and advanced options.
Is it effective in terms of horsepower and torque gains?
With the DiabloSport inTune i3 Platinum tuner, you can gain 20-25 horsepower or 33-40 foot-pounds of torque if your vehicle is naturally aspirated with air.
I’ve also found out, however, that if you have a turbocharger installed, you can expect a maximum gain of 90 horsepower. This is a surplus of around 120 foot-pounds of torque. Factory turbocharged vehicles like the Ford F-150 (2020 model) can also expect an enormous horsepower boost.
People who have used this device have felt a noticeable difference in their vehicle’s fuel economy as well. The shifting is smoother, and the throttle is more responsive. It also does a great job of detecting the correct diagnostic codes.
