The lug nut sizes above are true regardless of the version/trim of your Ford F-150.

The lug nut size should be exactly the same as the wheel stud size, hence why the same size is shown for both lug nuts and wheel studs in the table above.

As an extra precaution, reference your owner’s manual or consult a Ford professional for the correct lug nut size.

How to read lug nut sizes

Lug nut sizes include two numbers.

The first number is the diameter of the stud (lug nut). The second number is the pitch, which is a measure of the number of threads per inch or the distance between the threads in millimeters.

So an M14-1.50 lug nut is 14 millimeters in diameter, and the threads are each 1.5 millimeters apart.

And a 1/2″-20 lug nut is half an inch in diameter, with 20 threads per inch.

Dealing with low quality lug nuts?

Stock Ford F-150 lug nuts aren’t very high quality, and may bulge in the heat or deform when removed or re-torqued.

Ford enthusiasts from multiple forums frequently recommend using aftermarket lug nuts. The brand of choice is typically Gorilla, which are extremely high quality. You can find them on Amazon.

What’s the correct socket size for F-150 lug nuts?

If you’re going to be removing lug nuts from your truck, it’s important to know the correct socket size to use.

In general, the correct socket size is 21mm or 13/16″. However, that figure isn’t necessarily true in every case. Thankfully, we put together a guide so you can find the correct lug nut socket size for your specific F-150.

What’s the correct lug nut torque for a Ford F-150?

The correct lug nut torque varies depending on the model year.

Thankfully, we compiled the correct lug nut torque for each Ford F-150 model so you can make sure you’re applying the right amount of torque on your truck’s lug nuts.
