Best Jeep Compass Mods

Whether you have a Jeep Compass or are planning to buy one, you can use one or more of the following mods to take its performance and looks to the next level.

Suspension Lift Kit

If you’re an off-roading enthusiast and want to take your Jeep Compass for off-roading adventures, the first modification that you should make is to install a suspension lift kit.

Although the Jeep Compass comes with a decent ground clearance of 7 inches, it isn’t ideal for off-roading. An off-roading vehicle should have a ground clearance of at least 8.8 inches.

It allows you to avoid obstacles and bumps of rough terrain and drive your vehicle safely.

That’s where suspension lift kits come into play for Jeep Compasses. It’ll lift the vehicle to increase the ground clearance.

You can use any of the following lift kit types for your Jeep Compass.

  • Coil Lift Kit: More flexible than any of the other types of lift kits. However, it’s also more expensive.
  • Long and Short Arm Lift Kit: Not only does this type of lift kit increase ground clearance but it also offers more wheel travel and excellent suspension angles, thanks to its control arms.
  • Body Lift Kit: This lift kit type allows you to lift the vehicle for up to 3 inches. However, it’s not the best option for off-roading.
  • Coil Spring Spacers: It’ll allow you to add up to 2 inches of ground clearance. It’ll also keep the suspension adjustments at the minimum level.

Tires

Different variants of the Jeep Compass come with different wheel sizes, including 19, 18, 17, and 16 inches. The tires that you’ll get with your Jeep Compass will depend on the wheels it has.

While the stock tires of this vehicle offer decent performance, they might not be the best depending on how you use the vehicle. You can buy the following types of tires for your Jeep Compass, based on the use case.

Winter and Snow Tires

If you live in a place with a cold climate, you’ll need these tires as they’re made with special rubber and have special tread designs to withstand extremely low temperatures.

All-Terrain Tires

All-terrain tires are specially designed for off-roading. They’re extremely durable and increase off-road traction. However, they’re not the most comfortable tire type and also increase tire noise.

Performance Tires

You can’t go with performance tires, if you want to add a sporty look to your vehicle and enjoy better dry and wet traction, along with improved handling. They also have higher speed ratings and grip but they have a shorter lifespan than other tire types.

All-Season Tires

If you’re planning to take your Jeep Compass out for touring, you should go with all-season tires. They offer good dry and wet traction, provide a smooth ride, and offer a longer tread life.

Cold Air Intake

One of the best ways to increase the horsepower and torque of your Jeep Compass is to use a cold air intake. It’ll bring cooler air to your engine and increase efficiency and boost power.

Cold air intakes have a higher oxygen density and they allow the engine to perform efficiently under high temperatures and heavy loads.

Keep in mind that some cold air intakes are not allowed to be used in some areas. So, you’ll need to check the product specification before making a purchase.

Bigger Fuel Injector

If you’re planning to install a cold air intake, consider pairing it with a bigger fuel injector to boost horsepower and torque even further. It’ll allow your engine to breathe better and avoid choking due to extra fuel.

A bigger fuel injector will allow your vehicle to increase fuel delivery so that you can enjoy more power and a smoother driving experience.

Supercharger

Pairing a supercharger with a bigger fuel injector is another great way to improve the power of your Jeep Compass. Keep in mind that all models of Jeep Compass have special turbocharged variants.

If you have such a variant, you might not need to use a supercharger. However, if you’re an expert racer and want to experience an adrenaline rush, you can install a supercharger in your turbocharged Jeep Compass as well.

It’ll allow you to maximize the power potential of your ride. It’ll deliver more air to your engine to bring about a massive improvement in torque and horsepower.

Performance Exhaust System

A performance exhaust system won’t only improve the looks of your Jeep Compass, but it’ll also make it more efficient. It’ll maintain optimal air levels in the engine to reduce fuel consumption and increase power.

New Lights

Installing new lights is one of the most affordable ways to make your Jeep Compass look sporty.

You can use halo headlights to make your vehicle look even more aggressive. Not only will it improve the look but it’ll also increase your visibility while driving.

Crossbars

Crossbars run across your vehicle’s width, where you can mount your activity-specific racks. Not only do these bars look good but they also transfer the weight of your cargo to the feet/towers to ensure roof protection.

Performance Brakes

Installing performance brakes in your Jeep Compass will improve its stopping power. It’ll also reduce brake fade to maximize the lifespan of the brakes.

You can also change calipers, paint the current ones, or use caliper covers to improve the looks.

Final Words

The Jeep Compass is a powerful vehicle that delivers excellent power. But you can improve its performance and looks using any of the mods discussed in this guide. Keep in mind that performance upgrades usually void the warranty of the vehicle.

So, if your Jeep Compass is still under warranty and you want to keep that, consult with the dealer before making any modifications.
