Stock performance settings on trucks like the Ford F150 are often insufficient for many people. When you hit the throttle, you want your vehicle or car to react fast and accelerate just as quickly.

This is possible through performance tuning, which is where MPT tunes make a significant difference.

This MPT Tune review will give you a complete understanding, based on thorough research, of some of the best MPT tunes this company offers. Let’s see how these tunes can drastically improve your vehicle’s performance.

What is MPT?

More Performance Tuning, or MPT for short, is a vehicle performance tuning workshop in Orlando, Florida. The MPT team is focused on writing the best quality tunes to calibrate cars and trucks to run at their maximum potential.

MPT is also a brand that gained a lot of customer trust because of its excellent customer service. Their motto is that quality products must be paired with perfect customer service to keep the clients happy and satisfied.

In the following sections, we will analyze each MPT tune and give detailed information on what each one provides.

Performance Tow Tune

The MPT Performance Tow Tune is called the “Daily Driver” or the “Street” tune. From what I’ve gathered, this tune is meant for vehicles running 87-89, 91, and 93 octane fuel and is mainly designed to improve towing performance. It is a mix of performance and towing parameters oriented toward higher torque output.

Compared to the stock tune, this tune drastically improves the throttle response and the part throttle boost. However, this improvement is less extreme than the PR-X, which I have also researched.

If you need a tune for towing and an average increase in performance, then the MPT Performance Tow Tune might be the right choice for your vehicle.

If you like to use this tune but prefer the stock shifting points to remain the same, then MPT has a modified version. Based on what I’ve found, they use the same parameters but ensure the transmission setup is softer and less drastic.

PR-X High Boost Tune

The PR-X stands for Performance Race Extreme. This is MPT’s top performance tune that provides the most power and performance gains to your truck or car.

From what I was able to find out, this tune is available for 91 and 93-octane fuel, making your truck’s throttle response extremely sensitive. It will also provide an incredible throttle boost, making your truck feel lighter and quicker in acceleration.

If you’re into technical stuff, I have also investigated that this tune will increase your truck’s open throttle boost by about 15%. This means an increase in torque and acceleration in the low-end RPMs, resulting in a much quicker 0 to 60mph.

Shifting is highly improved with this tune as well, making shift points more stable at higher RPMs. However, if you prefer to keep your vehicle’s stock transmission shifting points, MPT has a modified version of this tune that provides just that. Based on my research, it features the same benefits mentioned above while ensuring the transmission is gentler and softer, just like it is from the factory.

Performance Economy Tune

This tune is known as the Perf-Econ or Performance Economy Hybrid Tune, and it’s compatible with 87-89, 91, and 93-octane fuel. It was designed by MPT to simultaneously provide the best performance power and fuel economy.

From what I was able to find out, the Performance Economy Tune focuses on the low throttle and closed pedal positions, ensuring the fuel economy remains increased. It is also tune oriented for drivers who want occasional, not constant, power and performance from their trucks.

Performance Trans Only Tune

This tune from MPT is designed to work with any octane fuel and only influences performance and shifting. It does not affect other stock settings like ignition timing or fuel economy.

The main benefit of this tune for your vehicle is an increased acceleration and throttle response with the same stock fuel consumption. I’ve learned that customers choose this tune because it’s more affordable and doesn’t affect many of the vehicle’s ECU settings.

Conclusion

If you decide to improve your truck or car with a custom exhaust, cold air intake, or other performance parts, you can do that with an MPT tune.

It will ensure that your vehicle performs better and make the most out of the after-market parts you install.

I hope this MPT Tune review proved helpful and convinced you to try one of MPT’s custom tunes. If you have any comments or questions, feel free to leave them in the comment section below.
